Shelby GT-500 Flip

A few months back my father was in Tucson (about an hour drive from where I live).  I figured I would look in some areas on craigslist and maybe see if I could find a good deal on a vehicle down there.  I had just sold my Lexus IS350 (which I drove for 8 months, put 10k miles on her and sold her for 1k more than I paid).

I came across an ad for a 2007 Shelby Cobra GT 500 with only 19,000 miles on her!  I was stunned when I saw his asking price of only 28,500.  I knew these pulled in around 34-35k easy!

As I called my father to tell him I was emailing him the ad, I starting thinking about how something has to be wrong. Salvage title… Damage…   Repairs needed?  I was very confused at how the low price was going to play into the condition of the car.

My father called and looked at the Shelby and told the guy he was looking for me and that I would call him the next day.  Obviously when looking at a vehicle you do not want to call someone and start bragging about how clean and awesome the car was because you will lose negotiating rights.

The report from my father was unexpected. He said the car was dirty and the black plastic molding was a little faded, but a good detail would make this thing showroom condition. Turns out the guy bought a few to many toys and this one had to go before the bank took it.  I Called the next day and he was pretty firm on his already low price, I offered him $28,000 and he took it.

The drive home was amazing, 500 Horses!  I had to clean this thing up and put it for sale right away before I killed myself or others.

I detailed the hell out of this car and took tons of pictures plus a few videos.

Within 3 days of listing it, I had a guy from new mexico fly in and take it for 33,500. This was 8 Days after buying the thing!  What a Flip!

This by far is the best flip ever! I will be looking into doing more cars in the future.
